Another fabulous location in England is that of Cleethorpes, which is located on the Humber estuary. Originally the location was part of three different villages, but they joined into one town, which is Cleethorpes.
Developing as a village that was based on fishing, by the 1801 census there were 284 located in the village. While the year of 1820 would see Cleethorpes becoming more of a health resort for many people.
Cleethorpes is an area that has been unparished since 1996. Also the town is located on the Greenwich meridian, and there are signs located that show distances to many locations from that spot. A resort area now that many can enjoy the sea by visiting Cleethorpes. Still also a rich town in fishing history, check to see if you can get on a boat and fish some in the sea, it's a great experience that many people won't get a chance to do in their lives.
Check out the Ross Castle among one of the great architecture sites in Cleethorpes when you visit. Though listed as a site that is near the sea, the city is actually by the Humber estuary, which than hooks up to the sea.
Other sites that a vacationer should check out include Cleethorpes Pier, Coast Light Railway, Discovery Centre, and the Pleasure Island Theme Park. Also a fabulous jungle zoo, and don't forget about the meridian point.
More of a resort town, you will still find some fabulous history in this location, check out the lighthouse and many other buildings that will let you learn a bit more about the history of this area. However, more known now as the seaside resort town, so enjoy the time by getting that healthy glow to your body. Bathe in the sea salt and enjoy your time in the lovely city of Cleethorpes.
