Thame is situated in the South Oxfordshire district, in the southeast region. It is under the constituent country of England and under the sovereign state of United Kingdom.

Thame was found whenAnglo-Saxon took place. Though a small town of United Kingdom, Thame has some great historical significance. It is said that Thame Abbey was built for the Cistertian Order but later on the church was destroyed due to some reason and Thame Park was made over that place. Many descendents of the people who died in the wars at early times are still living over there.

The Prebendal House was built and also the chapel of the House, which is made in the English style, was built in Thame. Both the House and the chapel still situated there and is a point of attraction in the present time. There is also the solar which exists still today along with the Hous

The famous Grammar School in the town was built in 1550 which still exists today. The school was built by John Williams. But the name and the infrastructure of the school were changed later on and were named as the Lord Williams. The famous champion boxer James Figg was born in here.

There is also many famous parks, roads, railways stations etc. One of them, the Thame Parkway railways station was build in 1987. There are roads like the Oxford road, which is a famous one and many more. There are three primary schools and one secondary school for educational facility. Thus Thame is a town with all facilities and a good tourist spot for its famous buildings. Thame is a beautiful place to visit.

By: Simon Haughtone
